Chelmsford Citadel Songsters under the leadership of Joanne McIntosh made a memorable impact on the Corps at Bristol Easton. The Saturday evening programme featured many contrasts with the lively ‘Rock Eternal’ partnering the beautifully presented ‘Got any Rivers?’, and ‘Living Fire’ coupled with the challenging ‘Written in Red’ created an especially poignant moment. Chris Hull provided an enjoyable contrast with the Cornet Solo ‘Beyond the Blue’. One of the highlights of the weekend was a cameo of eight songs from Gowans and Larsson musicals which made up the entire second half of the programme . These were presented in costume, and were a delight to hear. Sunday meetings conducted by Major Sue Jones (Chelmsford C.O.) brought much blessing and challenge.
